
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. After graduating earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional with the club and assisted the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time, was the youngest player on the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. She was able to finish 2012 with 21 and 28 goals. assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists within the same calendar year , becoming the sixth the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was selected for both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she took home the Silver Boot.
